Membership
New Members
If you are interested in joining Squadra Coppi, we strongly encourage you to come out and get to know the team to determine if we are the right fit for your racing goals. The best way to do this is to attend team rides and social functions. If after spending time with us, you are committed to joining Squadra Coppi, the next step is to contact the Membership Coordinator to learn the process and requirements for applying to join the team. Prospective members will need to complete at least three USA Cycling-sanctioned races prior to applying for membership.
Renewing Members
Membership is renewed on an annual basis at the beginning of the calendar year by paying dues, renewing your USA Cycling license, and buying one new team jersey with the current sponsors. In order to renew, members must have attended club rides and social functions, volunteered for the team’s races, and raced in USA Cycling-sanctioned races in the prior year.
Initial Requirements:
A person who desires to join Squadra Coppi must meet these initial requirements in order to be considered for membership:
- Start 3 mass-start races (except juniors - 18 and under)
- Attend 1 club social function, such as the team dinner
- Attend 3 club rides
- Complete application form and submit to any club officer
Process:
When these requirements have been met, the officers will notify all members of the request for membership
in order to solicit input on the candidate. The officers will take member input into consideration before
accepting or denying membership. Members will be provided at least one week for input. The officers will
then vote and must be unanimous in their acceptance. If accepted, new members must then pay the firstyear
dues ($80, includes one jersey, no prorating / $45 for juniors) and sign the release form. Once accepted,
new members must also obtain a USCF road racing license, with Squadra Coppi as the club.
During the time potential member is a candidate, club members should make an effort to get to know the
candidate as well as possible.
Continuing Membership requirements (for Renewal)
- Attend 1 club social function, such as the team dinner
- Attend 3 club rides
- Assist in club race
- Renew USCF license, with Squadra Coppi as the club
- Pay dues ($65, includes one jersey / $45 for juniors)
- Sign waiver/ release form
